I have learnt that to be able to communicate in English, there is a need to learn and understand how English grammar works. To be able to speak, write, read and listen, learners should used nouns and pronouns, adjectives, prepositions, conjuctions, transitive and intransitive verbs correctly to become speakers of English. This section discusses basic English grammar, and the basic parts of sentences from nuts to soup. It was pleasing to know a little more about the differences between transitive and intransitive verbs. It was also help to learn the differences between gerunds and present participle. I should now be able to explain it a little better. In this unit I learned about basic (and not so basic) sentence structure. The unit also helped refresh my knowledge of basic grammar points. I feel like I am more comfortable with deconstructing a sentence and explaining the function and necessity of each part.
