This is very challenging for me, a native English speaker. I imagine it is extremely difficult for non-native English speakers to memorize these terms and pair them with the proper usage. This may be an example of a lesson that is better taught through practice and repetition, rather than by laying out strict rules. I am curious how important memorizing rules like these are for English comprehension. Most native English speakers probably could not name and define these tenses- but does learning these help non-native English speakers, who cannot use proper tense simply from feel and practice?
