Unit 1 was an introduction to being a teacher through understanding various points on teaching necessities, mindset awareness, and differentiating perspectives. I personally gained a lot of information in the important roles of a teacher and the major differences between young and adult learners. I was able to self-reflect on past teaching styles I have been taught under in the past and roughly formulate the kind of teaching experience I wish to provide. I knew before that I would have to do a little more personal research of the teaching styles of different cultures, but this lesson made it more obvious of the importance of cultural awareness and how it impacts the classroom.
