In unit four of this course, I was introduced to the various types of materials used for teaching young learners. This was directly tied into practical uses and how to put those materials into one’s own teaching practice. Additionally, a selection of resource links were provided. The most useful part of this unit for me happened to be the distinction between authentic and non-authentic materials for the classroom and lesson planning. Since I aim to teach young kids and consider myself creative, this unit gave me a lot of useful ideas for creating my own, unique non-authentic classroom materials and lesson plans.
