Unit 5 explores different components of classroom management. I requires the TEFL learner to focus on the importance of each and every action one uses in the classroom. Every action taken by a teacher should have a purpose with an objective to achieve in clear view. From the moment a student enters the classroom, the teacher should be managing his/her expectations and creating the environment enhance student learning. Unit 5 gives several examples of this idea from the physical layout of the class, how a student is greeted upon entering the class, when the teacher should speak and when students should speak. There are many tried and true strategies in this unit designed to keep classroom chaos at a minimum allowing for learning for all students.
